Dear Judges:

I sincerely thank you for your time to listen and discover all that I have learned from my fascinating internship. I had the pleasure of interning for Lisa Gonzalez, the Assistant Director of Digital Publishing at Penguin Random House. My experience allowed me to learn every aspect and effort put into publishing a novel.

As a passionate reader and writer, I found myself interested in how a novel was created and put into the world of literature. The publishing business became a fascinating industry to me due to its rewarding aspects and compatibility with many other talented authors and editors. While at my internship, I had the opportunity to meet many of Lisa’s co workers involving different responsibilities incorporated into publishing. Not only did I receive essential information of Lisa’s job, I also learned their insight in designing, marketing, publicity, and copy editing.

I am very fortunate to have discovered the fascinating atmosphere and production inside the publishing industry. I genuinely hope you enjoy learning about this profession as much as I did.
