Student Name: Kristen Bedard

Project Name: Ellis Island Documentary Video

Driving Question: The goal of this project was to learn and teach what foreign immigrants endured on their journey to America.

To complete this project, our group began by assigning family member roles to each other. Once we were assigned, we made a script and video plan for our documentary video. Following after, our class was involved in an Ellis Island simulation in order to experience the immigration process. Then, our group filmed, edited, and presented our video project.

To improve on next time, our group can edit our video better and present to the class more confidently.

This project could be improved by giving students more time to complete and perfect this project. My favorite part of this activity was filming our movie and undergoing the Ellis Island simulation. I enjoyed dressing in costumes and learning new things about American history without it feeling like homework. I especially enjoyed working with my group.
